ABOUT FRANK

Meet author

Frank Garcia

About fifteen years ago, Frank did the unthinkable and stepped out into the world on his own, leaving all he ever loved: his wife Christina, and their two daughters. He knew that one day he would need to further explain his actions for which there is no reason or excuse. In fear of his first-born daughter, Lauryn, he thought maybe it would be best to write her a letter in an attempt to share with her what had happened. As time passed, Satan would begin to clip on his puppeteering hooks into the shoulder blades of his new prospect. This book and time are what a letter to Lauryn morphed into. Frank was born in El Centro, California, and raised ten hours north in San Jose. Before shifting to an advocate for sobriety and helping those requesting help, the world of sinful ways and darkness would have to introduce themselves. As a youngster, his mother was strict and wanted to prove to the doubters in her family that her son would be the trophy grandson. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. He would grow to become an Addict /Alcoholic, trail-mixing his substances and partying in excess. Later, through redemption, he saw an opportunity to write his debut book, Refurbished Soul, in an effort to convey to his daughters who their daddy was, and what he would become for them, himself and others.

This life has taken my soul, and yet through redemption God has shown me that my soul was only lent to me to be spread about via his hands.

Um, That’s not my Shadow

I walked down the beach kicking kelp, and as the sun rose, I began to say;
Love mends the hurts that scream. Love mends a young one’s dream.
Love mends our stay on earth. Love mends till death do us part.

Love mends a heart smashed into pieces. Love mends a cold day’s fleeces.
Love mends a fragile type of emotion. Love mends sporadic thoughts filled with commotion.

Love mends the water’s little ripple. Love mends a sore breast’s nipple.
Love mends the time we’ve spent away. Love mends harsh attitudes before this day.

Love mends beneath our walk. Love mends while we have time to talk.
Love mends the love I had forgotten. Love mends the ripe fruits from going rotten.

Love mends the way I once was. Love mends in the death of a white dove.
Love mends my apologies offered with tea. Love mends our beloved future
of just you and me!

Love refurbished my soul and there laid in front of me the tallest of shadows unknown to man. God, thank you for your son, and Lord, thank you for the walk.
